I have had a PlayStation 3 since 2007. I bought it with my own money (which I won from playing poker on a cruise ship, no lie) and enjoyed it. Three weeks after I first bought it, the system kept overheating and eventually failed, so I got a new one for free. Fast forward to this summer when it failed yet again. This time, the blu-ray drive was kaput and my system had to be serviced. But since it was no longer under warranty, it would cost me $150 to be replaced (note that Sony only replaces consoles and doesn't repair them, meaning I would get a whole new system and would lose all my hard-earned saved games). Needless to say, I was pretty bummed about the whole thing. I don't play my PS3 as much as my Xbox, but I still like it and there are some great games on it.
Fast forward again to today when my predicament is solved:

Ta-da! The new PS3 Slim arrives (earlier than expected, no less) and I have a PlayStation again! And after three months of hearing about some really great PS3 games, I got the chance to try out a few. inFamous and Killzone 2 are both are awesome, and I still need to try out Little Big Planet. But I will have to spend equal time between those and Batman: Arkham Asylum for the Xbox (which is INCREDIBLE). So I have a busy gaming schedule.
So yeah, now I have something else to keep me away from my studies (I just started back to school at UNF this week). Classes are good so far, with only one of my professors not showing up (twice!) and learning how my new university operates. Overall, I think I'll enjoy it.
Well that's it for now. Expect more gaming crap soon, as well as some cool shit regarding the start of the GATORS football season. It's gonna be epic.
