But that all changed when this new game for the PlayStation 3 came out:

MAG stands for Massive Action Game, and it does live up to that name. A word of warning to all lone-wolf players: MAG is multiplayer only and there is no single player. Usually an online multiplayer game can hold up to 64 players at once. But with MAG, some battles can hold up to 256.
That's right: 256 players at the same time.
Now I haven't logged that much time with MAG, but I have played enough to get my character to Level 8 (if you didn't know MAG basically follows the same leveling-up structure as Modern Warfare 2) and played two of the game modes. The first being "Suppression", which is basically Deathmatch, and the other being "Sabotage" which you and 32 other buddies attack or defend certain structures. There is a story here, but it really doesn't matter, but the basic idea is that there are three PMC's (Private Military Corporations) fighting a global "Shadow War" in the future. At the beginning you create your character and join one of the three forces (Valor, S.V.E.R., and Raven) and each have their own weaponry and maps.
I'm planning to start a series of posts that chronicle my experiences with MAG, starting sometime next week. So stay tuned!
