[Random] Battlefield and Other Crap

It's Spring Break and you know what that means! I get to sit around all day and play video games, finally get a chance to get more than 4 hours of sleep at night, and loads of other unimportant things. Even though I will be doing those things, my spring break won't be too uneventful this year as I'll be at the Magic/Spurs game and I'll also spend a day at SeaWorld (which I haven't been to in about eight years). So I've got that going for me, which is nice.

Anyway, since March 2nd my life has been put on hold for a certain video game called Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I blew through the single-player campaign in two days, and I have to say that while it was a big improvement over the last game, it still didn't do too much for me. Yeah it was fun while it lasted, but it was a little too disjointed and the humor that was in the first game really wasn't there this time.

That's all well and good because the real meat of this game is the online multiplayer, which is that part that has taken my life hostage. Rather than just explain what it does or recall my experiences, I'll just show you this little handy bar of info:

The first thing you may notice is my rank, which is right now at 18. I'm almost at level 19 and will probably be at that level by the time I post this (and hopefully this banner updates like it should in real time, but who knows). The other thing you may notice is the kill-to-death ratio, which isn't that great. Yeah I do kill a lot of people, but I also die a whole hell of a lot too. So to flesh out that ratio, for every kill, I die about 1.1 times. Fantastic.

Dogtags are collected from other players, meaning every time I manage to stab them in the face with my knife I get their dogtag. It doesn't do anything to alter the game, but it feels great to sneak up behind someone and stab the shit outta them. Right now I have 63 of them and a total of about 72 (because I've stabbed some people more than once).

The one thing that is better than my kill-to-death ratio is my win-loss ratio. Depending on which game mode, the way you win alters. The problem is I almost always end up on a team of morons who like to galavant off by themselves all the time, and if there is one thing I've learned from this game (and MAG too) it's that you NEVER go against a tank or group of bad guys by yourself.

And yes, I play on the PS3. Because it's FREE.

But enough of that game crap. Regarding my last post about the new Gorillaz album, I said it was the best album of the year so far and would be hard pressed to be beaten. Sure that my not hold up in the end, but the more I listen to it the more I love it. It's really an album that grows on you. I really think it might just be the best album this year because looking at the future forecast of new albums only a few actually look decent and the rest look like crap. So based on what I hear is coming out, this may be a crappy year for music. But that doesn't matter because this Plastic Beach is a place I love to visit time and time again.

Regarding upcoming stuff here on the ol' blog, I'll have pictures from the Magic game as well as some from SeaWorld.

And don't hold your breath for the NIN Remix Ep. It's still coming, but right now it's on an indefinite hold. It's still growing and molding, so who knows, maybe it'll be completely different the next time I mention it.
