[Video Games] Down Memory Lane and Other Stuff

I've been playing PS3 a hell of a lot lately and it's pushed my Xbox over to the side (literally, as I had it on the floor to the side of my TV). That's mostly because PS3 games like God of War III (more on that later) and Battlefield had taken over. But no longer! Released in glorious HD this week is one of my all-time favorite games on the N64, Perfect Dark.

Perfect Dark was the spiritual sequel to Goldeneye on N64, which was a game that sucked countless hours away from my childhood. I haven't played either of those games in a long time, mainly because my N64 up and died on me a few years back. But now that Rare decided to re-release it on the Xbox Live Arcade in HD with enhanced graphics, better frame rate, 1080p resolution, and online multiplayer, I've finally gotten the chance to revisit it.

It still plays the same way it did back in 2000, and it really shows its age. But that's its purpose; it's not for the kids who play COD all day but for the ones who played it and Goldeneye back on the N64. The voice acting is still lame and the story if still kinda dumb but the core gameplay is still a hell of a lot of fun.

Updates:
  • Look for a few pictures from SeaWorld soon, possibly tomorrow (22nd)
  • An update on the NIN Remix EP is coming, and it'll include a solid release date as well as a track listing and artwork. This is for real this time!
  • The Arctic Monkeys gig is just a few weeks away, so look for a review/recap of the show sometime after (April 4th or 5th)
