Top Five Albums of 2009: #2

Number 2:
Muse - The Resistance

Well surprise surprise. If you read my full review, you might have noticed that I said that this album was "the best album I've heard all year", and while that might have been true at the time, the more I listened to it, the more I realized that while this was a really really great album, it wasn't my favorite.

You already know why I like this album so much , but why have I decided to drop it down to number 2? It's simple: after the initial "holy shit" factor wore off, and after I had listened to it almost non-stop, I kind of got tired of it. Maybe that's because I listened to it too much or because I overexposed myself to it. Either way, I came to the conclusion that compared to the album which I put in the top slot (no, I'm not gonna tell you what it is yet), "The Resistance" didn't mean as much or got as many plays as it did.

But enough negativity, why is "The Resistance" ranked as highly as it is? Because it's awesome. Its huge and bombastic and ridiculous and powerful. But you already knew that.

Bottom line, while this may not have turned out to be the best album of the year as I had previously reported, it's still in my all-time top 10 and you all should stop reading this and go buy it.

Definitely Download:
The whole damn album!
