Holy fuck dude. I think I've found a winner for lamest movie of 2010 already. This "remake" of the old camp-fest original is not dull and it does have some cool effects (the Kraken is pretty rad) but GODDAMN is it STUPID. The dialogue must of been written by a 15 year old and contains all of the action movie cliches ever created. All of the actors just cheesed it up, got their paycheck, and left. Some of theme just stood around with nothing to do (literally, some of the gods in Olympus just stood around like idiots). There were five or six scenes when I took my palm and smacked myself in the forehead. It's probably bruised now.
In the end it's not nearly the worst movie I've ever seen (that still belongs to Transformers 2). And unlike with Transformers 2, I didn't leave the theater mad. There were parts of it that were entertaining, but as a whole, it could have been so much more. Yes it may be paying loving tribute to the campy fun of the original and doesn't take itself seriously, but it's just dull. Oh and I saw it in 2D, so if you decide to see it, do so in 2D and not 3D. This movie was not filmed for 3D and was just recently converted, so save your $6 and see it in 2D.
Final Thoughts:
Some parts are cool, but it's just too dull and stupid for it's own good.
