i had the great luck to see Radiohead play a show in Tampa back in May, but i never had a place to really recollect about it. but now that i made this blog, i can. problem solved!
this was the first time i had ever seen a band which such prestige (for lack of a better word) and fame as Radiohead (with the sole exception being nine inch nails, which is another beloved band of mine and puts on a really amazing show as well). Radiohead played to a packed house, about 17,500 people to be exact. the scale of the show, from the lights to the sound to the band's presence and ability to control the crowd, was truly mesmerizing. i was basically knocked senseless. and being the huge Radiohead fan that i am, this show was essentially the second coming of Christ to me.

after a dreadful opening band, Radiohead took the stage at 8:45 pm and didn't stop playing for almost 3 hours. the set spanned from The Bends to In Rainbow (which was played almost in its entirety). sadly, there was no "Creep", but the fact that they played "The Bends" and "Lucky" made up for it.

the highlight came when Thom sat at a piano with a camera attached to it and played "You and Whose Army?". this is one of my absolute favorite Radiohead songs, and the visuals made it a truly amazing experience.
here's what it looked like:

Thom even dedicated that song to "the folks on the hill", aka all those who were seated way up on the lawn. the cheers were deafening.

oh, and before i forget, here's the complete setlist.
so i really don't need to say it, but i will: this was the single greatest night of my life. it marked the first time in my life where i closed my eyes at a concert and felt the music. i had never felt something like that before.
only a band with as much grace and power as Radiohead could do that to me.
