This Friday (February 26th) would have been Johnny Cash's 78th birthday. To me, he was a true American and an incredible musician and songwriter. I normally don't care for country music, but Cash transcended that genre. He remains one of my personal heroes and one of my favorite artists of all time.
In honor of his birthday, the final volume of songs he recorded with Rick Rubin before his death in 2003 has been released, entitled "American VI: Ain't No Grave". I will have a full review of the album soon, but for now I will say that it is absolutely beautiful and incredible.
So be on the look-out for a full review of "American VI" soon as well as a look at Johnny Cash in the near future.
